Vlad Shmunis

Chief Executive Officer, Founder, and Chairman of the Board

Vlad Shmunis founded RingCentral with the idea of using the power of cloud technologies to simplify business communications. Today, RingCentral is a leading global provider of trusted AI communications, contact center, revenue intelligence, video and hybrid event solutions. RingCentral empowers businesses with conversation intelligence and unlocks rich customer and employee interactions to gain insights and improved business outcomes.

Prior to launching RingCentral, Shmunis served as the founder and CEO of Ring Zero Systems, where he pioneered desktop business communications software. Ring Zero shipped more than 25 million copies of its software via its partnerships with leading PC manufacturers, including IBM, HP, Sony, Toshiba, and many others. Ring Zero was acquired by Motorola.

Shmunis supports a number of charitable initiatives, including Cancer Research at Stanford University, San Mateo County General Hospital, and Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research and Shmunis Family Anthropology Institute at Tel Aviv University.

Shmunis holds a Bachelor's, Magna Cum Laude, and Master's degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University and is a named inventor on a variety of US patents.

Prat Bhatt

Former Chief Accounting Officer at Cisco

Prat Bhatt has been named a member of the RingCentral Board’s audit committee given his strong track record of financial and operational growth. Bhatt served as the Chief Accounting Officer from July 2009 through July 2023 and as Executive Advisor from August 2023 to January 2024 at Cisco Systems, Inc. (“Cisco”), a global technology company. He previously also held the additional title of Corporate Controller from July 2009 to May 2022. From June 2007 to July 2009 he served as Vice President, Finance and Assistant Corporate Controller, and from November 2000 to June 2007, Bhatt served in various leadership roles of increasing importance at Cisco.

Bhatt currently serves on the Board of Directors of Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX) since December, 2020 and is the Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee. He also currently serves on the Governing Board of the Center for Audit Quality (“CAQ”) since August, 2023 and is a member of the Financial Oversight Committee. From June 1999 to November 2000, Bhatt was Director of Financial Operations at Kaiser Permanente and from October 1990 to June 1999 he was Senior Manager with Ernst & Young LLP in the Assurance Practice. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Bhatt has previously served on advisory committees to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (“PCAOB”), chair roles including the Financial Executives International’s Committee on Corporate Reporting (“CCR”), and is a regular speaker on financial reporting & accounting topics at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and other forums.

Bhatt is a certified public accountant (inactive) and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and his masters degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.

Tarek Robbiati

Chief Executive Officer of RingCentral

Tarek Robbiati has served as RingCentral’s Chief Executive Officer since August 2023 and has been a member of the RingCentral Board of Directors since December 2022.

Robbiati is a renowned strategic and financial executive with experience across the telecom, media, technology and financial services industries. Prior to joining RingCentral, Robbiati served as Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Strategy of Hewlett Packard Enterprise since 2018 where he helped oversee the company’s portfolio transformation and financial growth, including doubling ARR while significantly growing free cash flow. Before joining Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Robbiati served as Chief Financial Officer of Sprint Corporation from August 2015 to February 2018 where he led the company’s strategic efforts to reposition the company.

Prior to these roles, Robbiati served in various executive positions across the globe. He was personally recruited to FlexiGroup Limited in Australia in January 2013 and subsequently led a highly successful transformation that included a radical shift in the core business model. As Group Managing Director and President of Telstra International Group in Hong Kong, Robbiati was the driving force behind the company’s Telecom Asia’s “Best Mobile Carrier” award in 2011. He also served as Executive Chairman and CEO of Telstra’s Hong Kong-based subsidiary CSL Limited. Earlier in his career, Robbiati held leadership positions at global credit insurer Atradius, Orange PLC in the UK, investment bank Lehman Brothers, and the global consultancy Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

Robbiati holds a Master of Science Nuclear Physics and Electronics from École nationale supérieure d'ingénieurs de Caen (ENSICAEN), a Master of Science Business Administration from IAE Caen and a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School.

Mignon Clyburn

Former Commissioner of US Federal Communications Commission

Mignon Clyburn was a Commissioner of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission from 2009 to 2018, including as acting chair. While at the FCC, she was committed to closing the digital divide and championed the modernization of the agency’s Lifeline Program, which assists low-income consumers with voice and broadband service. In addition, Ms. Clyburn promoted diversity in media ownership, initiated Inmate Calling Services reforms, supported inclusion in STEM opportunities and fought for an open internet. Prior to her federal appointment, Ms. Clyburn served 11 years on the Public Service Commission of South Carolina and worked for nearly 15 years as publisher of the Coastal Times, a Charleston weekly newspaper focused on the African American community.

Ms. Clyburn is President of MLC Strategies, LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm, a position she has held since January 2019. Ms. Clyburn is also a board director and member of the Compensation Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of Charah Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: CHRA) since March 2019. In addition, she has served on the board of directors and as a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of Lions Gate Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: LGF.A) since September 2020.

Arne Duncan

Managing Partner, Chicago CRED

Secretary Duncan was U.S. Secretary of Education from January 2009 through December 2015 as part of the Obama Administration. Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Duncan served as chief executive officer of Chicago Public Schools. From 2001 to 2008, Duncan won praise for uniting the city’s stakeholders behind an education agenda that included opening 100 new schools; expanding after-school, summer learning, early childhood, and college access programs; dramatically boosting the caliber of teachers; and building public-private partnerships around a variety of education initiatives.

He is also a managing partner at Emerson Collective, an organization dedicated to removing barriers so people can live to their full potential. He currently leads Chicago CRED, a nonprofit trying to achieve a transformative reduction in gun violence in Chicago. Secretary Duncan graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1987, majoring in sociology.

Duncan serves on the boards of: Ariel Capital Management, Aspen Institute, Communities in Schools, Lucas Museum, My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, National Association of Basketball Coaches, Pluralsight, Revolution Foods, Thrive-Chicago and Catapult Learning, LLC. He also serves as Co-chair of the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics.

Kenneth A. Goldman

Former CFO of Yahoo, Fortinet, & Siebel Systems

Ken Goldman has served as President of Hillspire, a wealth management firm, since April 2018. He brings extensive financial leadership experience to RingCentral through numerous executive and board of director roles at enterprise technology companies.

He recently served as Chief Financial Officer at Yahoo! overseeing all global finance functions for the company. Prior to Yahoo!, Goldman served in chief financial officer roles for several enterprise technology companies including Fortinet and Siebel Systems. Goldman serves on the board of directors of NXP Semiconductor, Trinet, GoPro, Inc., and nonprofit boards such as the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Foundation Board. Goldman is also a member of the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Goldman’s depth and breadth of experience in scaling multiple technology companies proves invaluable as RingCentral grows and meets global customers’ communications and collaboration needs. His leadership supported RingCentral’s goal of achieving one billion dollars in revenue in 2020.

Goldman received a bachelor’s degree of science in electrical and electronics engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Ned Segal

Former CFO of Twitter

Ned Segal was most recently Twitter's Chief Financial Officer, leading the company's finance functions along with Corporate Development and Partnerships, including Global Content Partnerships, Developer Platform Commercial and Business Development.

Previously he served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Intuit, where he led finance for the Small Business Group that delivered QuickBooks, Payments, and Payroll to millions of small businesses and self employed customers. In this role, Ned was responsible for the division's financial and strategic planning.

Before joining Intuit, Ned served as Chief Financial Officer of then-public RPX Corp, the leader in patent risk management solutions to technology companies around the world.
Ned began his career at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Managing Director and Head of Global Software Investment Banking. In this capacity, he advised technology companies from around the world on mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, and other equity and debt financings, and led Goldman Sachs investments in multiple technology companies. Ned's career highlight may still be his tenure as a hot dog vendor at Candlestick Park from 1988-1992.

Ned serves on the Board of Directors of RingCentral, where he sits on the Audit and Nominating and Governance Committees as well as Beyond Meat, where he serves as a member of the Audit Committee.

Ned received his BS from Georgetown University. He is an active volunteer in the non-profit sector, and currently serves as a Board Member of Tipping Point Community. He is a previous Trustee of Town School for Boys and Lick-Wilmerding High School. Ned and his wife live in their hometown of San Francisco with their three children, where he loves walking the neighborhoods, watching kids' sports, eating, and attending Giants, Niners, and Warriors games.

Rob Theis

General Partner at World Innovation Lab

Rob Theis is a Lead Director at RingCentral and currently a General Partner at World Innovation Lab. Investments include Automation Anywhere, Auth0, BrightRoll, DocuSign, Fortinet, HubSpot, and RingCentral. Theis has invested in over 25 companies creating an aggregate capitalization of $42 billion with seven IPOs and 11 acquisitions. Theis previously held executive positions at New Era of Networks, Sun Microsystems, and Silicon Graphics. Theis has a BA in economics and computer science from University of Pittsburgh.

R. Neil Williams

Former CFO of Intuit & Visa USA

Neil Williams was Intuit’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from January 2008 to February 2018. Williams has nearly 30 years of strategic, operational, and transactional experience in the financial services industry. He is responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including corporate strategy and business development, investor relations, financial operations, and real estate.

Before joining Intuit, Williams was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Visa U.S.A., Inc. In that role, he led all financial functions for the company and its subsidiaries, including financial planning, business planning, and financial monitoring. Williams concurrently served as Chief Financial Officer for Inovant LLC, Visa’s global information technology organization, responsible for global transactions processing and technology development.

His previous banking experience includes senior financial positions at commercial banks in the Southern and Midwestern regions of the United States.

Williams is a certified public accountant and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
