One of the world’s largest communities for women in tech

Anna Radulovski wants to close the gender gap in technology professions. Frustrated by the lack of women in software roles, Anna founded Coding Girls in 2017. With WomenTech Network, which she founded in 2019, Anna aimed to build a global organization to help women build rewarding, lucrative careers and businesses across all technology-related fields.
Just a few years since its launch, WomenTech Network has become one of the world’s leading communities supporting women in technology. The organization boasts 9,000 Global Ambassadors across nearly 200 countries. Through a combination of mentorship, virtual and in-person conferences, networking events, and professional-growth programs, WomenTech Network has collaborated with more than 70,000 tech leaders and reached 4.5 million people.

Virtual events too big for a webinar platform

In addition to its in-person conferences and networking events, WomenTech Network began hosting virtual and hybrid events in 2020–both to add to the company’s global reach and to create digital content for its partners’ sites.
But as Anna explains, the company’s webinar app quickly fell short of WomenTech’s needs.
Within our first year, our virtual events attracted thousands of registrants around the world, and we wanted to create large, interactive, multi-session experiences that truly engaged attendees. But our events platform really limited us to a simple webinar format, didn’t let us do much to engage audiences during those webinars, and couldn’t support the traffic we brought in. That’s why we quickly pivoted to RingCentral Events.

Using RingCentral Events to create large, dynamic virtual conferences

With RingCentral Events, the WomenTech Network team could now produce high-quality, multi-day virtual events that reached women around the world and empowered each attendee to customize their own experience and interact directly with employers and subject-matter experts.
The organization now uses RingCentral Events for all of its virtual gatherings: networking events, career fairs, professional development meetups, etc. But as Anna notes, the software platform has had the biggest positive impact on WomenTech’s largest annual event.
Our Women in Tech Global Conference is huge, running several days, with attendees from more than 150 countries, and featuring roughly 500 speakers and panelists. Now that we have RingCentral Events, we can fully recreate the depth and dynamism of these conferences online–with keynotes, breakout sessions, chats, expo booths, networking opportunities, one-on-one meetings, everything our sponsors and attendees need to have a great experience.

Creating value for partners, attendees, and employees

Ivo Radulovski, WomenTech Network’s Co-Founder & Digital Strategist, explains the organization has found numerous ways to add value to their virtual events by leveraging features across the RingCentral Events platform.
“We find that the polling feature really enriches our speaking sessions,” Ivo says. “It engages attendees and helps our speakers get a better sense of what matters to their audiences. We also encourage both our hosts and attendees to use the emojis in the live chats. That adds some fun and personality to those sessions and makes people feel more comfortable contributing to the conversation.”
Ivo adds that a major benefit of RingCentral Events, one that directly supports the organization’s mission to empower women in tech, is the ability to turn these events into networking opportunities.
We’ve made our virtual career fairs and other job-related events much more productive–both for attendees and for our sponsoring employers like Oracle and GE Healthcare–by using the matchmaking and other networking features in RingCentral Events to connect candidates with the right employers for one-on-one video chats.

Ivo adds that WomenTech Network also saves time and improves the attendee experience by using RingCentral Events’ Schedule Upload feature.
“Many of our online events, and particularly our Global Conference, have huge agendas–sometimes hundreds of sessions and panels. RingCentral Events saves our team massive time because they use the Schedule Upload to easily import the agenda details right into the platform, where our attendees can see them and create their own customized event schedules.”

Improving the lead process with a HubSpot integration

Ivo also explains that WomenTech Network uses the HubSpot RingCentral Events integration to streamline and improve the lead collection and follow-up process.
Integrating RingCentral Events into HubSpot lets us easily synchronize our event attendee data into our CRM. We can see profiles of our registrants and even where attendees went during an online event and how and where they participated. That’s extremely helpful, for example, when we want to create campaigns to persuade those attendees to become professional members of WomenTech Network.

Expanding WomenTech Network conferences with RingCentral Events

Ivo and Anna point out that RingCentral Events will play an important role in WomenTech Network’s plans to expand its virtual event strategy–starting, for example, with creating hybrid events.
“In the past, we live-streamed some of our onsite events, but our platform didn’t allow us to create a full experience for those joining online,” Ivo says.
“With RingCentral Events, we can create truly hybrid events, where online attendees feel just as engaged and receive all the benefits of being at the live event. At our 2024 Women in Tech Global Conference, we had 10,000 people attending in-person and also engaging in some of our online activities. RingCentral Events is really allowing WomenTech Network to reach a broader audience for our in-person events without compromising the experience for online attendees.”
Anna adds that she’s been so pleased with the degree to which RingCentral Events has helped to elevate WomenTech Networks virtual conferences already that she and her team are actively looking for more ways the platform can help improve their event operations.
RingCentral Events has helped us streamline and automate a lot of the event-prep and hosting work that we used to do manually. And I know we haven’t fully tapped into the platform’s capabilities yet. So, we’re always looking for more ways event workflows we can automate–with registration, speaker management, vendor management–and I know we’ll keep finding them in RingCentral Events.
